School Play |

Two days ago, After lunch the teacher told us to pick a book and do a play out of one of them.
Our group was Nikau, James, Megan, Christian, Eli and I. We practiced once. We were the only ones to perform ours that very day.
We then got assigned that we could make our own play and script. We designed it and got it finished yesterday. We practiced but didnt have the time to present it. If you would like you can do this play to!

Granparents day

Last friday my grandparents, who came all the way from christchurch and my non-related auntie. My grandparents went to my sisters class and then came to mine. I started to make a profile but didnt have enough time. After that with my auntie I open a coding site and gave her a go. She got all the way to level 5 ( not the best with technology, so thats amazing ). If you would like here is the link for the site. We also had a special assembly for all the grandparents. I really enjoyed this day. Maybe your school should do it to! Thanks for your time!

Spooky Story WK3T4

Yesterday on Halloween, our teacher showed us a video of the mexican tradition, Day of the Dead. It was an animated video and we got given a few choices. I picked to do a first person perspective of the main character. I wrote a story in less than 30 minutes. Watch the video first then see what I wrote. I have changed it a little, but it still works. Hope you like it! Here is the link for the video.

And here is my writing! ( It might be a bit boring to read, Sorry )

Hey, Mum? Could I go to granny's grave? I beg mother.
Sure! Here, bring this flower for me. And be back in half an hour.
I walk out the door towards the cemetery. I can see her in the distance.
I arrive at the gargantuan gates. There it is. People have placed plants and painted skulls around her. I kneel looking at the photo. A tear slowly rolls down my cheek. It drops onto the coarse dirt. Suddenly out of nowhere, A little sprout appears. Growing and growing until it blossoms a beautiful blue rose. I put my hand out to pick it, It thrusts forward onto my wrist, I yanked my wrist back and struggle. It almost feels like it's pulling me back down. All of a sudden, the vigorous plant pulls me through the dirt. THUMP. I slam down onto the ground hard, Somehow, I am not hurt. I look up, except there is nothing to look at. There is only pitch-black darkness. Apart from the one gorgeous blue flower. Nothing. Then, a skeleton appears out of the void. 2 more appear beside it, I scrabble backwards, grabbing the flower. Then the skeletons pull out…

A guitar?! I sit there confused, then lights appear and it looks like they are standing on a small stage. They then start playing the most amazing music I've ever heard. I skeleton comes out behind me and drags me over to a table. The skeleton looks like a female. She pulls out a huge kitchen cleaver. My heart races... Oh no, What is she going to do to me? She then grabs a melon and cuts it up. Whew. She then makes it into a beautiful flower and passes it across the table. It's amazing! I think. I wouldn't dare say it out loud because I'm also filled with shock. She comes around and picks me up off the table.  She runs over to something looking like a closet. She puts a bright white short dress in front of me, I shake my head. She puts a nice cornflower blue shirt in front of me. I nod my head. It looks amazing. Then, the darkness dissipates and shes in a beautiful purple dress. We are surrounded by other people dancing merrily. She picks up some flowers and smells them. Then the skeleton starts turning into a beautiful woman, my granny! I run over to her and I give her a big hug. One tear starts rolling down my cheek, then another and another. She kneels and wipes the tear away. She pulls out the flower from her pocket and puts it in my hair. All of a sudden everything goes black, then I hit the ground at the foot of granny's grave. I look down at the photo and feel the flower in my hair. I get up and skip outside the cemetery down to mother to tell her what happened.

Wearable Arts | 28-8-19

Our school has something every 2 years. Its called 'Wearable Arts'. In this event we are given a theme for our costume and what we have to make. Past years the theme was 'Countries' and the part we had to make was a hat. This year the theme is 'Future with a West Coast flavour'. We also get to pick an aspect of the West Coast of New Zealand. Our theme is the rainforest. We’re going to make a ghillie suit sort of body with vines, flax, weaved flax, ferns, koru’s and other greenery. We’ll also be adding things in such as a waterfall coming off the shoulder and bouncing off rocks as well as the occasional flower and silver fern. For the back we will add a Mฤori chief cloak made from ferns that’s so long that it drapes along the catwalk. Here is a photo of our prototype.

I really hope that we could get at least in the top three on the day. Hope you do too!

Cellphone Argument | 3-7-19

Good Morning! I have finally finished my argument after being sick for 6 days! Here is the finished post!
-------------------------------- Cell Phone argument

Introduction

I believe that all children over the age of ten should be able to own a mobile phone. I mean, how long would you be able to last without a mobile phone for one full week? Now that you have had one for a couple of years and know how much they can help, without being able to contact other people would be hard wouldn't it? Also, all my other friends have a mobile phone and they are 11-12 years old. A mobile phone will be helpful because I can keep in touch with everyone, especially when I get lost. It's Great for entertaining on long trips and will be amazing with all the useful apps like Kiwi bank, Camera, Contacts. I mean, Why can’t I have one?

A cell phone would be amazingly helpful for communication. Let's say I go for a walk and get lost, and cant run back home. If I had a phone I could've called you and you could have come and found me. If I went for a trip to Christchurch and was really missing you I could call and say Hello then tell you what has happened while I have been over there. And also I could call my friends to say Hi and see how they are doing. This is why having a phone would be excellent to contact and stay in touch with everybody.

A mobile phone would be superb to entertain myself! Such things as with Games, Netflix, Youtube and other amazing things. It's easy to carry around and super brainy. I could bring it on a car trip and it's miniscule so it wouldn't be a hassle to carry around. It also will just keep me quiet at times ๐Ÿ˜›.

Just think of all the handy apps out there! Apps such as Banks, when you need to buy something just pull it out then scan then it will purchase the desired item. Camera, just take the minuscule little object out of your pocket then take some really high-quality photos. I think out of all of the apps Play Store is the best. You can download any app out of millions here. They could be Games, Movies and so much more!

This is why I think that all children over 10yrs old should have a mobile phone because of staying in touch, Entertaining and all the useful apps.
